Discover our Mongolian cultural center in the countryside of Groningen, the Netherlands. Through music, workshops, cultural gatherings, and stays in our yurt, we share our passion for Mongolian culture and create opportunities for people to experience its traditions firsthand.

Nestled in the peaceful countryside of Groningen, the Netherlands, Altai Cultural Center is a place where Mongolian culture comes to life. Founded by Saran and Rowan Hartsuiker, Altai grew from a shared passion for Mongolia and a desire to bring its music, traditions, food, and hospitality closer to Europe. Inspired by Mongolia’s rich artistic and cultural heritage, we have created a welcoming space where visitors can discover a different way of life, meet new people, and experience traditions deeply connected to nature, history, community, and everyday life.
At Altai, there is always something to discover. Join a throat singing or traditional instrument workshop with Rowan, attend a concert, learn to prepare Mongolian dishes with Saran, or stay overnight in our traditional yurt. We also organize retreats and cultural gatherings celebrating Mongolian music and traditions. Our passion extends beyond the Netherlands. Through projects like MongolianThroatSinging.com, we connect people with Mongolian music, artists, and traditions, creating opportunities to learn directly from experienced musicians and teachers. Wherever you encounter Mongolian culture through our work, we hope it inspires you and leaves you with meaningful connections, just as it has inspired
