Altai Cultural Center

Here's our story behind this project

MongolianThroatSinging.com is a project by Altai Cultural Center, founded by Saran and Rowan. Driven by our passion for Mongolian art, music, and culture, we created this gathering place for people to discover Mongolian throat singing, connect with talented artists and teachers, and explore the traditions behind this remarkable art form.

We have a very big passion for Mongolian Arts & Culture

At Altai Cultural Center, we believe that art and music offer a powerful way to discover a culture, connect with people, and understand different ways of life. Our work is rooted in a deep appreciation for Mongolia's rich cultural heritage, from its traditional instruments and ancient musical practices to the stories, knowledge, and traditions passed down through generations.

Through our cultural center in the Netherlands, we organize workshops, performances, retreats, and journeys that bring people closer to Mongolian culture. Our goal is not simply to introduce people to its music and traditions, but to create opportunities to experience them in meaningful and authentic ways.

Bringing Mongolian throat singing to the world

Mongolian throat singing has become an important part of our lives. What began as a fascination with its extraordinary sounds and techniques grew into a deeper appreciation for the culture, history, and people behind this remarkable art form.

We created MongolianThroatSinging.com to share this passion and make it easier for people around the world to discover throat singing, learn from experienced teachers, book talented artists, and take part in workshops and cultural journeys.

Authenticity is at the heart of this project. We believe that Mongolian throat singing should be shared in close collaboration with the people who carry this tradition forward. That is why we work with Mongolian musicians, teachers, and cultural practitioners living both in Mongolia and across Europe. By bringing artists and audiences together, we hope to support cultural exchange, create opportunities for collaboration, and help ensure that the knowledge and traditions behind this music continue to thrive.
